From Beyond

My work called "From Beyond" is the same as the show title. It happened to by my favorite story by HP Lovecraft. It deals with awakening long lost senses in us. Parts of our body like the Pineal Gland once served a purpose and they are brought back to use.

From a site about the Pineal Gland:

"The pineal gland's location deep in the brain seems to intimate hidden importance. In the days before its function as a physical eye that could see beyond space-time was discovered, it was considered a mystery linked to superstition and mysticism.

Today it is associated with the sixth chakra whose awakening is linked to prophecy and and increased psychic awareness as consciousness ascends"

In my image I wanted to show the pineal gland as the third eye. Awaken by the machine the scientist created, it was able to see things not seen before. The cone shaped beams of sight illustrates that the drips on the page were actually little creatures that have been there all the time.
